what a crazy day. a day like today is how i know that leaving my career 18 months ago was the best thing i could ever do. at about 1:30 this afternoon my youngest son said he sure wished we could go swimming at the "big pool" in mitchell. i looked at him and said "ok." you would have thought the kid won the lottery. i figured why not? my work for the day was done, i wasn't expecting any clients to call and i had to be in mitchell for a baseball game tonite anyway.
so we went swimming. all day long, til nearly 6pm. my oldest son recently overcame his big fear of putting his head underwater and has turned into a fish practically overnight. it's so much fun to see, i think i enjoy watching my kids accomplishing new challenges more than just about anything. i also enjoy watching my husband accomplish his big challenge--playing amateur baseball at age 37 with a bunch of twentysomethings and still kicking butt. the muckdogs are on their way...another big win last night...i think i smell a state championship. dang. i hope i didn't just jinx them.
well, it's way past my bedtime. i need to go say a prayer for a friend of mine, she has no idea how often i think of her and wish i could do something to take her funk away.
good night.
