this is the view from our back deck. but it's not the normal view. normally, the river is just a little slice through the field. after saturday's major deluge, however, the river has gone over the banks all over town and has invaded fields, backyards and even the playground in town. people who lived here in 1993 keep talking about the big flood that hit that year, destroying homes, cars and businesses. i don't think we'll get to that extreme, a lot of the water has already started to subside. but it is crazy to see what Mother Nature can do. i think she just likes to remind us that we are not ever in charge.

I remember walking down to the bridge in town and watching the water rise, a couple of hours later we rode in a boat down the same street. I have never seen anything like it before. We rode the boat around rescuing people from their houses.

if that flood wouldn't have happened, this development wouldn't have been built on the hill and we probably wouldn't have decided to move here.
isn't life funny?

Oh, good. Now that Bobbi said it I can add my two cents...which would be "Mother WHO???"
