no matter how bad things may seem in your life, you can be happy that you're not this particular gardner snake.

i can't figure out for the life of me why she won't move away from us. she lives right under our front steps and every time she slithers out, one of my three j boys captures her. then she gets to run around the neighborhood scaring little girls or she gets put in a bucket or she gets to go on a bike ride or she just gets to hang upside down while the person holding her screams for everyone to come look.

everytime i see the snake on my own, i keep the information all to myself. i feel sorry for her, and i really wish she would move away. i've contemplated sneaking her off to live in peace at the Back Forty. i'm sure by now she's got anxiety issues and could use some good Back Forty therapy. but then i think, maybe she's got a husband and kids around here somewhere? maybe that's why she puts up with all the noise and chaos of our house. goodness knows i understand.

so next time you're having a bad day, remember that things could be worse. you could be this gardner snake, hanging upside down while the thing holding you screams about how gross and slimy you are.

yeah, maybe "she" is them, and in fact you have 20 of them living under your porch. NOW who is grossed out?!

i went for a walk the other day barefoot in the yard, heard the "rustling" and about six of em parted ways and slithered off.

bring er over. she'll have friends.

He look so big!!! Tell him to bring her (I can't believe she doesn't have a name) camping in the Hills. I've no doubt the Monkey could teach him new things to do with a snake..

I just showed E. He says to tell J, "Cool!"

So you see, he's not always wise and profound..

JG asked this morning to look at the really cool snake picture again. He is in awe of the snake. I knew I shouldn't have shown him this because he told me there were some snakes in our yard he was gonna start picking them up now just like big J. ICK!!!

Bob--you can add "snakes" to your prayer list, right under "Oprah."
