ok, i didn't take pictures. the thought of taking a picture crossed my mind several times, because it would look like this...

me, in my favorite kind of clothes: fleece jacket, down vest, fun ski hat, sunglasses, gloves, ski pants. big smile.

crosby, snow on her muzzle, tongue hanging out of her mouth. big smile.

both of us, out in the middle of the snow-covered lake, with a single ski track stretching out behind us along with little doggy prints that go back and forth, back and forth. the ski is blue and sunny. the snow is white and fills the entire photo. i have a sweaty head underneath my hat. my gloves are in my pocket. my new cross-country skis and boots are strapped onto my feet (thank you thank you husband) and we have a few more miles to go before the sun starts to fade.

i have a very sad confession to make. with ice skating, snow skiing, sledding and now cross-country skiing...i believe i have crossed over. i like winter even better than summer. pictures like the one i didn't take yesterday are the reason why. there is nothing better than blue sky white snow days (with no wind), happy dogs, just the right amount of fleece and hot cocoa with whipped cream on top.

and the best part? the mosquitos aren't biting one bit.

Very cool. I have to admit that I love snowy winters, but am right now suffering through a cold and miserable snowless one. Not cool.

Can't you head out across the lake and have a boy point-and-click from the warm house????

I can picture it in my mind...awesome present from Jamie!

I don't know...I seem to fair better in summertime still. I hate being cold, which I always am, until July.

But I would love to go cross country skiing...but only if it's above 30 degress. HA!

I so don't need a picture, you describe it perfectly. I am still jealous over here in the western part of the state. We want big sledding snow.
