looks like i fell off the wagon again. shoot. i had such good intentions.
just a little recap to explain why exactly i fell off that wagon. things have been busy around here.
*last week we had a visitor. he was 12 weeks old, chubby, fuzzy and he ruled our roost. his name was woody and he's the black lab pup our neighbor next door needed us to babysit. i did take pictures of woody (not very good ones) and maybe i will get around to downloading those. for now, just know that woody came loping into the house and promptly jumped up on the couch to take a nap. he did not read the rules about no dogs on the furniture, and we could not convince him that the floor was just fine. crosby and sidney were in shock and could not believe we just let him do it. by day three, crosby was slightly depressed and feeling like a third-wheel dog. we had to take her fetching to get her tail back up again. anyway, it was a busy five days back in puppyville. those things are cute, but man are they a lot of work.
*we had a madcap weekend that involved little j playing two hockey games and four baseball games in two different towns while big j stayed here to babysit woody and play horse rancher with his aunt deb.
*the madcap weekend may have also involved the husband and little j unexpectedly having to camp overnight with some friends (thank you friends) during the baseball tourney while i caught a ride back home to deliver an extra kid we picked up for hockey...long story.
*and it gets longer after i found out i still had the explorer keys in my purse when i got back home and the husband was stranded without a way home.
*after some serious sweating, i found a coach who was heading up to the tourney the next morning, delivered the keys to him and little j and the husband arrived home the next night tired, sunburned and beat. little j was on his very last legs UNTIL he walked in the door and saw cousin jesse fishing out back with big j. funny how a kid can just pop back to life. i believe he swam, fished, jumped on the trampoline, built a campfire, made smores and stayed up until midnight. THAT's little j on his last legs.
*he did sleep until 11:30 the next day.
*we test drove a vehicle. really, we did. that train is in motion and we may have something bigger and shinier soon.
*but probably not before we leave on friday for blaine, minnesota and another hockey tourney.
*and the WARRIOR DASH. yikes. my wave goes on sunday at 11:30. i haven't really even thought about it until my friend suggested we make t-shirts that say "push here" on the back.
*then we come back here for big 4th of July festivities. water, boats, fireworks, margaritas, fish fry, sunburns, bon fires...come on out.
*then we leave on thursday for duluth, minnesota where we will watch a nephew tie the knot.
*probably all without the bigger, shinier new vehicle, but you never know.
*i will try to take pics of the warrior dash experience. i will download them along with pictures of woody, little j playing baseball, the potential new vehicle, the new wall the husband is building, 12 kids on a trampoline, fourth of july, the wedding, cousin jesse sleeping on my floor (at this very moment) and random other things.
*but don't hold your breath. sounds like i'm going to be kinda tired.
