so after a month and a half of planning, tomorrow is the benefit for my friend who has cancer. 7 women were over here last night putting together silent auction packages until midnight. i know they are all tired and dragging their butts at work today. thank you ladies, and thank you to your bosses for not noticing you nodding off on the job.

i'm tired, but i'm also very wired. deep inside, i love pulling off this sort of thing. i lie awake at night making lists and thinking of what needs to be done. i get this from my mom, she's queen of the 2 am ideas. (she once got up in the middle of the night to rip up her carpet because it occured to her that there could be hard wood under it...there was, and it became a very beautiful focal point in her home a few days later) anyway, now i'm just anxious to see how it goes. it has been surprisingly well-advertised, appearing in lots of newspapers, even the big city paper. it's also been heard on several radio stations and was even the feature on a morning talk show this morning.

i guess my prayer for this whole thing is that tomorrow a positive spirit shines over the event and all of the people there, that my friend feels loved and blessed and understands that this is not just a fundraiser for her family. this is God at work in a small community, and it's all because of her. you are special, and you are not alone in your fight. you have a whole "village" ready to get in there and kick that cancer's butt with you.
