ok, my turn to write about the big reunion. actually, looking at the photos i chose to post, maybe that tells the biggest story of all.

i didn't really go back to see the class of 1989. i went back to see my best friends. i was fortunate enough to have awesomely fun girlfriends, and even more fortunate to still have them. i had a BLAST this past weekend, but the highlights were saturday at the waterslide park where i laughed until my gut hurt as we crashed into each other on the river rapids and saturday night where we closed down the firepit at cher's house.

the actual reunion--kind of a disappointment. here were my reasons:

*the room was very dark and very loud, and it was hard to talk and listen. my voice was nearly gone by the end of the night.

*i'm not so good at small talk and the big three questions: where are you, do you have kids and what do you do? got old really fast.

*the fourth question: "what have you been up to" came with the standard answer "not much." really? not much in twenty years? but, it was dark and loud and it was kind of hard to get into a real answer like that.

*i felt bad when i didn't know people who apparently knew me, and even worse when i would know people who had no idea who i was. it honestly felt like high school all over again. and not in a good way.

*all in all, the event was a lot of work. i'd rather just go hang with people i love and feel comfortable with, in a pair of capris and a t-shirt. which probably sums me up pretty well. i'm not a social butterfly. i love my peeps, but big groups of peeples, not so much.

anywhoo...that about wraps up my two cents. we did manage to smash A LOT of fun into two days. the reunion, the waterslides, the evening at chers, climbing harney peak, seeing the black hills...it was a true vacation. i just wish it didn't have to end so soon.
