you know how you don't really pay attention to cars unless you are in the market for one?

i am feeling that way about rocks.

i am attempting to build a pondless waterfall and i'm collecting rocks. big, flat rocks if i can find 'em. everywhere i go, i am scoping for cool rocks. and for the most part, rocks are cool when you really stop and look at them.

which i am doing today. as soon as i get a chance, the boys and i are going to start piling rocks into the back of my truck. hopefully big flat ones. i wish i was in the black hills right now...the rocks there truly, well...rock.

so. as you are going about your day, stop and look at the rocks. it's not all about the flowers you know. :)

I am looking for rocks, too.

But I think I have always just come upon rocks. I probably never really had a need... but rocks were always there. Then we were looking for some to finish my mothers garden. And wow, rocks are expensive!

You make it sound as if you are looking to just "pick up" large flat rocks. Is there a magical wonderland of rocks? ....Basically, Are You Stealing Rocks?!

he he. i am not stealing rocks. actually, most of them are coming right out of our back yard along the shore. i have seen some rocks i would love to steal in other people's yards...but have not resorted to that yet :)

This is too funny-I have totally been there and done that, not only for lanscaping but for lizard cages. I actually look for rocks when I am in the hills-when I contemplate picking them up my hubby reminds me that it is illegal-bummer

i am looking for rocks too. i have noted some 'buried' on my property, and i want to unearth them. sounds like work, though.

i do not believe it is lawful to just 'pick up' rocks anywhere, so watch it, Carey...i know i was pretty stern with the young kid who was just 'finding' them in my yard last summer ;))

Carey - if you want to take a drive ab out 45 minutes south of Mitchell, my dad could hook you up with a pretty good supply of rocks. Seriously. Let me know.

When I ordered rocks from the landscaping company for our front one of my old friends said, "What were you thinking? You could have taken a trailer out to the pasture and picked a whole bunch from the rock pile." So, I guess I know people who have rocks, too. So if you get bored we could drive around with the trailer and help the farmers by clearing some of the rocks from fields. I promise it is not stealing.
