wow, i'm not sure what happened to me but it's been awhile since i've had a chance to blog or even read blogs. i've been missing out on my favorite reality tv show. schwew. it's good to be back.

reasons i haven't been able to blog:
my youngest is a pest
my husband is a pest
lots of meetings and some travel this past week
i got sucked into The Tenth Circle by Jodi Picoult
i can no longer keep my eyes open past 9:30 pm (still blaming it on daylight savings)
friends in crisis have been putting me on the phone rather than the computer. some stuff just can't be said on a blog...

and about that. it seems like there are a lot of bad things going around right now, lots of people dealing with heavy problems. several of my "blog sisters" are dealing with things that seem too big for them to handle, all at the same time. there is a common theme of "not knowing what to do." i've said before how important i think "girl power" is for helping each other through these things, but no power is better than "god power." if we could all just make sure to include Him in our girl talk, picture him hanging out in the coffee shop with us, or riding shotgun in the car, or running right next to us...I think the comfort there would far surpass the comfort we get from each other. just something to remember, and think about.

so yesterday i woke up to two eddies. you see, when my kids are really really happy, or they are about to get something they want, or do something fun, they become very agreeable and overly, ridiculously polite. i call it the eddie syndrome, as in eddie haskell from leave it to beaver. my oldest does eddie the best, he says things like "why sure, mommy, i can do that for you. " and "i know how i can help my brother! i will use encouraging words."

whatever. roll eyes.

i'll take eddie whenever i can get him. and there is nothing better than two eddies trying to out-eddie each other. so for whatever reason, both boys woke up in prime eddie form yesterday. i think it was because it was a friday with no school, and my husband was home. in fact, i think my husband was even an eddie yesterday. they were all just so darn apple-cheeked it could make you puke. i wish i could have tape recorded some of the conversations, but they went something like this (you must read the kids lines in your best eddie haskell voice)

"boys, can you go get dressed please?"

"oh, sure mom. and i'll help my brother get his pants buttoned. you know how tough those buttons can be."

"before you get dressed, maybe you should take a bath." (this is the true eddie test)

"oh, a bath sounds like a great idea. can you start the water for us and we'll just hop right in."

"and when we get out, maybe we can all play a family game!"

dad chimes in "a family game! yes! i will go get it all set up right now!"

not kidding. three eddie's in one house. all trying to out-eddie each other.

unfortunately, by afternoon all the eddie's were long gone and i had kids fighting and a husband leaving mud prints all over the floor.

the hardest part about having eddie come is wondering how long til he comes back again.

I'll loan you a rap star for an Eddie! Yesterday, E wanted to know, if Jace asked Santa for a gameboy, and you have E's gameboy, how on earth Santa was going to give Jace a gameboy...'cause, like, wouldn't that be lying, mom? So. I promised to ask you how you work this deal out with Santa. Help!

Welcome back Carey, i was wondering where you were! I really haven't had much new to say lately so that's my excuse for not doing much. Liked your God advice, I need to remember that more often.
