after school today i was looking in my kindergartner's backpack and found this note. it's from a girl in his class.
it says "dear jace. i love you. can you paly with me at reses" thank you
love jocelyn

it's kinda cute and stuff...but passing love notes in kindergarten? wow. girls sure are forward these days.

i asked him what he did when she gave it to him.

he said "i just did what she expected. i played with her. "

i said, "hmm. so what did you think of the note?"

he said, "well, mom. she got some words wrong."

i said, "well, yeah. but her writing is pretty good for a kindergartner."

he just shrugged and said, "i still like the first grade girls better. at least they can spell."

I love it!!!!

Note to self: watch out for older women.
Also: teach J not to "just do" whatever girls expect him to.

Oh, and keep that note. It will be valuable blackmail material one day.

Apparently it starts even younger..one of the moms from Carsen's preschool class told me the other day that she overheard her daughter saying the "Carsen was her boyfriend" THEY ARE 4!! Very cute note glad to hear that Jace is more interested in their intellect!

I remember a day in Kindergarten that I ran away from home to be with my boyfriend! I got really lost, and I never found his house. I also remember the boys chasing me in the 1st grade. When they caught me, they would hold me down and kiss me. Then run away!

Chris--that explains so much about you...
I didn't have my first kiss until I was 11, and yes, it was allllll downhill from there.
