this past weekend, we were hit with a couple of whammies. the first one was little j's eyeball. he bonked noggins with a girl while dancing at the "Irish Spudfest" on saturday night. it was a lot worse then, and is getting a lot better here in the picture. tonite he can open his eye about halfway, and he thinks he looks like a hockey player. so i guess that means he's cool. the funny part was, we went to church on sunday morning when it looked really bad. the priest tells the congregation about a seminar all parents should attend on how to spot child abuse...

the second whammy occured while i was mowing the lawn. i was zipping along in the thick, green grass when out of nowhere i hear a loud CRACK. my neighbor looks at me in horror and points ACROSS THE STREET to where the husband's car is parked. the entire window was shattered. this was a good 30 feet away. if a kid would have been riding by on a bike, i don't even want to think about what would have happened. keep those kids away from the mowers.
scary stuff.

otherwise, all is well. the husband and i celebrate 10 years of wedded bliss on thursday. he says he got me something "sentimental." this comes from a man who bought me a lint roller for valentines day one year. wish me luck :)

what about the "sectional (really puffy crunchtastic fabric with brass trim, cup holders, garish hockey team /ducks print, oak laminate and recliners AT EVERY SEAT" whammy?! Tell me you passed on that one!

listen here girlie, the sectional was OUR idea, based on many young hip happenin' designers on hgtv who choose sectionals.

since when did you become the sectional police? do you have something against sitting comfortably???

actually, i found a really nice leather one in ginger spice. it's not puffy, no recliners but it does have a chaise at one end. it's being showcased at the Parade of Homes and is about a gazillion dollars and I swear if you saw it anne, you would like it.

i'm not getting it (see gazillion dollars) but it makes a pretty good testimony for sectionals :)

So, I am a little slow in the uptake, what did you hit with the mower that caused the window to shatter? I just need to know! And, I want to know what he got you for your Anniversary, I didn 't see it posted in your recent blogs.
