i really want to post a moving video of my big j boy playing hockey last saturday, but can't quite face up to the task of technology. is it hard to unload video from a digital camera onto a blog? someone just tell me that much, and then i'll know if i should try.

at any rate, quick recap. i was just about busting with pride. the kid has been skating really hard in practices all year, but every scrimmage he just kind of hangs in the back of the pack, following the puck from end to end.

on saturday, somebody lit him on fire. he was fast, aggressive and having a blast. he scored 7 goals and had tons of assists and all-out breakaways. he even stole the puck from the fastest SEVEN year old in brookings. :)

yep, that's right. i'm bragging. after spending my entire winter freezing my butt off at the ice rink, i finally saw the payoff: a boy who couldn't stop smiling. a boy who wore his medal to bed. a boy who said, "mom, i thought all the fast skaters wore RED helmets. but i wear a black one, and today i was fast, wasn't i?"

and just think, next year i'll have TWO mini-mites.
