last tuesday, my son decided it was ok to release frog and toad from prison. i mean, captivity. we took them both outside, where they kind of blinked in the sunlight and looked around for awhile. they sat side by side, and then frog turned around and hopped to the south. toad waited a minute and then hopped to the north. so much for becoming best friends over the past three months, staying up late in the dark aquarium and planning wild schemes of escape. actually, i think toad secretly hated frog because he got all the grasshoppers first.

anyway, big j was a little bit teary...and i sort of caved in and maybe kind of promised a kitten instead. the husband doesn't know this yet. i've been looking in the paper, and there aren't any kittens right now, so maybe we'll get over the loss of frog and toad without a cat to ease the pain. deep down, i kinda want one. we have a cat, but she would rather be outside and she doesn't really like the boys. something about their volume level.

at any rate, i caught myself worrying about frog and toad last night. it was cold out, and they didn't take their jackets. just kidding. actually, it WAS cold, and i hope they didn't croak because they missed that hibernation window, whenever that is.

then i realized i was using up valuable brain space thinking about frog and toad, and i switched gears to something more worthy. like, what color should the kitten be?

let's say "kittens" please.

you have TWO sons, you need two more cats :)

Two kittens...I like the sound of that.

I'm lobbying for a puppy. For Diggy. She's lonely. If I had that acre and a half, I'm pretty sure I could sell the idea.

I know of a farm that has kittens that need loving little boys... older boys that can take care of the kitten. Milo [Will & Finn's cat] is enuff for both of them right now.

I like to remain a mystery when ever possible. I sent you some HUGE files [pics] of the little farm boys dressed appropriately. In addition to cats, we've got calves and I'm sure J&J could use a little 4H project?? You have PLENTY of land for a little brown cow. :)
