well, our summer starts today at 1 pm. last day of school. my first grader is a second grader...holy smokes. where does the time go? i'm excited about this summer but a little apprehensive too. we decided to go 'daycareless' this summer...which means i do my work around the boys. they are pretty good about entertaining themselves, and i have about a six-hour attention span when it comes to work. so, i figure if i work from about 7 am until 1 pm every day, we'll have every afternoon free.

of course, i decided to start this plan today and i'm blogging at 9 am...but we'll just call it a coffee break.

anyway, i had the boys write out a list of everything they wanted to do this summer. it goes like this:
swimming, Wild Water West, Mitchell pool, Faith's slip n' slide, Omaha zoo, butterfly house, playing at the park, going to the lake, library, Barnes and Noble, McDonald's, golf, tennis, baseball, Chuck E. Cheese, movies, sleepovers, camping, animal shelter (?) and catching frog and toad again.

sounds pretty good to me. wanna come along?

Count me IN! Can't wait to see what Frog and Toad have been up to all winter.

Can you add a trip to the Hills in August, to hang out with your Karen??

Love the idea of a list of what they want to do. I am so going to copy that when we get to start summer vacation which is not until June 13!!

Tell frog and toad hello from a couple of oregonian boys!

yeah, we actually wrote out a "schedule" for every day this week, so that they have productive stuff to do while i'm working. right now jace is supposed to be dumping the trashes and josh is writing the letters, R, S, T and U.

and i'm blogging. not sure that was on the schedule...

Sounds great!

We'll have to get the boys together to play. I need to be better at having J's friends over this summer.

Wow. That is a very similar list to our house. I am too afraid for all 3 to write down what they want to do. I like to sit. I don't think that will be on the list. K~
