so the 10 year old water heater died on us on sunday. we're getting a new one delivered and hopefully hooked up today--maybe tomorrow--but in the meantime, it's been a little funny around here. do you realize how many times a day you turn on the hot water? and how bad it sucks when there is none? cold showers are no way to start the day. neither is washing your face in cold water at night, not being able to do laundry or wash dishes and washing your hands in cold water all day long.

i guess i take the old hot tap for granted. hot water is a really, really good thing. thank you, mr. hot water heater inventor. you rock.

go take a steaming hot shower for me, will ya?

Oh, I am so sorry. I know how this feels. I just have the feeling something like this is about to happen here, especially considering how busted the budget is this month.
Hope the water heater dude showed up today...

It is amazing how much we MISS our daily tech gadgets and industrial comforts when they are gone. I firmly believe I was not born in the pioneer era for a reason. My hubby's grandma's stories about butchering chickens for daily meals pretty much cemented that years ago.
