every so often, the husband goes over to the storage unit (aka his mom's house) and brings home a load of our stuff. i stopped wanting any of it about two loads ago. i can't think of anything i really miss except for these little red lodge canoes, this one star thingy that i'd hang above my stove and the cool antique rocking chair my grandma gave me for my wedding. oh, and the dog-sleeping-on-the-bed picture. that's it. that's all i want. everything else i need is here.
problem is, there are boxes and boxes of things left to unpack. i don't want anything else cluttering up the house. it's great the way it is. so what do i do with it all? the bigger question: who in the world would want it? i told the husband to just leave anything that isn't here at his moms. he he. i'm sure that will win me some points :)
oh. and while i'm at it, what do all you frequent movers do with the unpacked boxes when you are done with them? we have half a garage full now.

You are Trevor's dream wife.
Dream.Wife.
Get on Freecycle (or have Rani do it), and you'll find tons of people who will gladly take those boxes off your hands.

it does make ya wonder...why we always want more stuff when it feels so much BETTER to get rid of all the stuff.

Kevin and I have moved about 11 times in 13 years of marriage, and each time, we get rid of a few boxes of stuff. A hospital in Kevin's hometown has a 'thrift' store and the $$ goes to fund the daycare-preschool. So, maybe there is something in Mitchell that is similar where the $$ stay local. Otherwise, we just pile on the junkpile at Goodwill. Not a creative solution, just something to think about. Nancy

hey nance! hi! i am excited to hear from you. are you sure you don't need any of jamie's old hunting jackets or anything? :) oh, and we still do have the green truck. that should go in the pile too...
i will go check out freecycle. if someone would come get these boxes i would hug them.

After moving 8 houses in 15 years of marriage AND lugging those packed boxes of stuff around we finally had a garage sale and whatever didn't go the boys club came and picked up. YES picked up and hauled everthing away. It feels really good to get rid of all that stuff-my tastes had really changed after that many years

and..don't forget to save a handful of the boxes for the boys,
they make the best forts and robot suits, ever!
