i talk to bobbi pretty much every work day. usually around 9 am or so. we call to talk about work and usually end up chatting about her crazy night or whatever stupid thing i did or said or my kids or her cat or whatever. both of us are usually multi-tasking while we talk and it is a good way to start the day.

then there are the days when i call and she doesn't answer. and then i email and she doesn't email me back. and i email again and she still doesn't email me back. if i can't remember her telling me about a meeting or an appointment, i start to worry by about noonish.

she lives alone, after all. what if she fell and can't get up? what if a robber stole her? what if she went outside to feed the birds and locked herself out and she's standing there shivering in her cool boots and her pajamas?
