perhaps there is a reason i spent five summers working at reptile gardens. seems that lately, i could start my own little zoo here in montrose. maybe that just comes with the territory when you have two little boys.

anyway, this little guy was outside church yesterday morning. it's a baby garter snake, and it really is kinda cute. little j brought it home and i told him "we aren't keeping it if it won't eat."

so they googled snakes and found out they eat earthworms. we put four worms in the reptile box, and the snake ate them right up. drat.

by afternoon, the snake had already broken out and was slithering into the hallway. i said "well, we'll have to let him go since he can escape so easily."

and then the husband gets out the duct tape and rigs the reptile box up so that it's escape proof. or so he says.

at any rate, we now have a frog, a toad and a garter snake. if we end up with a lizard, i'm going to start charging admission.
