so last night i'm doing this little test and i'm praying "please turn blue, please turn blue, please turn blue..."

he he he

i knew that would get your attention.

actually, it was a test for soft water. the water turns blue if it's soft, red if it's hard. along with our water heater being replaced, we also decided to do something about our old water softner and the really hard water problem we have always had. in fact, our water softner has not really worked from day one.

so. a friend came over last night who is in this type of business. he looks at our old water softner and says "wow. you guys have the good commercial softner." i say, "really? because it NEVER has worked. Ever."

he pokes around and looks around and then checks all our pipes and valves. then he says, "has this valve always been open?" I say, "um. yeah. probably." he says, "then your soft water has never been routed into your pipes. The valve should be closed."

are you kidding me? after all these years?

he added some more salt to the softner and did some stuff and we're crossing our fingers that it works. which means we really want the water to turn blue.

i'll keep you posted.

I'd totally be lying if I didn't admit that I got really, really excited just for a minute there. Even though I knew you were lying. I did.

Just think of all the free time you'll have now. You have no excuse (don't care about your gene pool) for washing dishes by hand.

I bet your hair will rock, too.
